- Synopsis
- Film narrating the 'Siege of Sevastopol' (1854-1855), the most important battle of the Crimean War. Admirals Kornilov (Mozzhukhin) and Nakhimov (Gromov) organize the defense during the siege of Sevastopol. Both admirals are killed during the battle, and the city is taken by the alliance of British, French, Sardinian and Turkish troops. The legendary feat of the sailor Koshka (Semenov) was staged on the original site. First film in the history of cinema shot with two cameras. It was premiered in 1911 in the Livadia Palace, Yalta, for Tsar Nicholas II.
