- Synopsis
- Pétronille and Casmir are engaged. She waits for him in the park, but a messenger brings a "dear Jane" message instead. In her despair, she attempts suicide with a bomb, but cannot get the fust to burn. She jumps out of a window, but her fall is cushioned. When she buys a gun, the salesman suspects that something is wrong, and he doesn't put any bullets in it. Finally she decides to hang herself in the woods, but Casmir is hunting and accidentally shoots the hanging rope.
