Venice, 18th century. Cecilia is a 20-year-old violin virtuoso who is confined to the Pietà orphanage. Her only escape seems to be marriage. However, her life changes when Antonio Vivaldi, a brilliant and ambitious composer, arrives as her new violin teacher. Under his tutelage and through his music, Cecilia finds the strength to defy the fate that once seemed inevitable.
