Es un film sorprendente por muchas razones: por el guión tan humanista, por algunas anécdotas curiosísimas que desconocíamos de la vida de Karol Woytila, por la magnífica o genial interpretación e imitación (prácticamente perfecta) que hace Jon Voight: todo ello nos descubre y nos hace profundizar en la personalidad de uno de los hombres más influyentes, importantes, carismáticos y famosos del siglo XX.
