Isaki Lacuesta, curtido realizador catalán de origen vasco de prestigio crítico y fama en circuitos comerciales reducidos, mayormente con documentales, se alía en esta ocasión con su productora y co-guionista habitual Isa Campos para co-dirigir una película de ficción en pueblos pequeños escondidos en las nevadas montañas del Pirineo, afrontando un tema basado en hechos reales que ya se encaró en El impostor. Y salen triunfantes de la empresa. Gracias a un gran guión hábilmente tramado, una ambientación espacial medida y cautivadora, una atmósfera narrativa reposada pero magnética y, sobre todo, estupendas interpretaciones, La propera pell te lleva de la mano por una travesía gozosa y lograda.
