Sometime during latter half of the 19th century, a small village in North India is facing drought conditions. Captain Andrew Russell, the British captain of the nearby cantonment, demands double of the usual land tax (lagaan) from the villagers. Una película que sorprende por la fuerza de atracción que ejerce en el espectador. Muy emotiva y heroica. Consigue lo que pocas películas consiguen ; transportar a su mundo por el tiempo que dura la película y aun a pesar de lo larga que es ni se nota ;)
