Ni pies ni cabeza. Cuando J.J. Abrams hace un guión coge a los personajes y adapta el entorno a ellos en vez de hacerlo al revés.
Le pongo un 5 porque aunque Abrams no sepa guionizar es un director como la copa de un pino.

El profesor de unos niños que intentan grabar una película de zombies se pone en medio de una vía con su coche, es arrollado por un tren de mercancías del ejército y sobrevive con ligeras brechas en la cabeza para poder advertir a nuestros jóvenes protas. Fin de la historia. Toda la película es un sueño del profesor en el limbo.
¿Que los chavales tienen que infiltrarse en un pueblo custodiado por el ejército estadounidense? No hay problema porque el espíritu de los 80 les protege.
Abrams debió de pensar de la siguiente manera:
E.T tiene un drama familiar. Pues yo lo veo y doblo la apuesta. Ahora tenemos el mismo drama en dos familias distintas.
E.T. era un alienígena encantador. Pues yo lo veo y lo triplico. Hago un mamotreco de 3 pares de cojones que se va a pasar de infiltración las tres cuartas partes de la película. Eso sí, al final mi mamotreco tiene una cara mucho más estilizada que la del pobre E.T. Vivan los 80.
E.T. y Elliot tenían un vínculo emocional. Yo lo comprimo en una única escena y me quedo más ancho que largo. Ah, sí, y encima meto detalles tecnonerds.
J.J. quédate en la dirección y que otros te escriban los guiones.
