Lo primero que me sorprendió de Neds (No Educados y Delincuentes) es que estaba bien traducido el título, lo cual no es para nada común.
Siempre me han gustado las películas sobre niños violentos y sanguinarios, y he de decir que cuanto más niños y más sanguinarios mejor. Por eso, Neds es una buena opción de película si lo que quieres ver son a jóvenes con mala leche en un colegio católico.
Creo que técnicamente está bastante bien. Tiene unos escenarios increíbles y una ambientación a la altura de otras películas inglesas como 'This is England'. La iluminación en algunos casos es sublime y los personajes están bastante bien escogidos.
Siempre me han gustado las películas sobre niños violentos y sanguinarios, y he de decir que cuanto más niños y más sanguinarios mejor. Por eso, Neds es una buena opción de película si lo que quieres ver son a jóvenes con mala leche en un colegio católico.

La película gira en torno a John McGill que empieza siendo un pringado y un empollón y se vuelve, desde mi punto de vista casi por necesidad, en un matón sanguinario y sin alma. Principalmente eso es la película.
El protagonista de la historia no busca las situaciones sino que las situaciones lo buscan a él: el encontronazo con la banda en el parque, el hermano delincuente, el altercado en los baños del colegio... Todo eso hace preguntarme lo que creo que pretendía comunicar Peter Mullan: ¿Quién es el culpable? ¿el sistema educativo? ¿Los profesores? ¿el ambiente? ¿las bandas? ¿el pegamento?... y así hasta el infinito. Creo que el director ha intentado crear un ambiente en el que hasta el niño más inocente y pasmao puede convertirse en el más sanguinario pandillero.
Sinceramente me esperaba una escena de abusos sexuales por parte de algún profesor en los baños al estilo 'Basketball Diaries' pero reflexionando sobre ello habría quedado demasiado crítico contra los profesores.
Un detalle que me gusta bastante es que muestra como a los niños problemáticos y/o deficientes los marginan y los colocan con los profesores más incompetentes, así como algunos de estos propinan golpes sin dar ni una sola explicación y eso refleja un sistema educativo tan estricto que roza lo ridículo.
Me gusta especialmente la escena que John McGill huye de la banda que le persigue y se mete en la casa de la madre de uno de ellos, ahí se ve como los que son muy duros en la calle pueden ser unos angelitos dentro de sus casas.
También me ha gustado que el director haya elegido en ocasiones una música alegre para las peleas (la escena de las bandas en el puente) y otras veces una música casi de ultratumba en otras (cuando le pega la paliza al chico en el cementerio que lo deja subnormal). Vale, ya sé que es una cosa que no es novedosa, que ya la hizo Stanley Kubrick en 'la naranja mecánica' pero creo que cabe destacarlo.
Y creo que no me queda nada más que decir.
