Ana Torrent -y en cierta medida también Geraldine Chaplin, como su contrapunto adulto- sostiene con un magnetismo digno de análisis, una de esas adictivas historias que unen infancia y perturbación. Las obsesiones, miedos y desafíos frente a cámara de la niña, logran transportar al espectador a la opresiva atmósfera -propia del cine de Bergman (los largos silencios, la escena en la cama)- de una clase acomodada que, en la desgastada dictadura franquista, constantemente se debate entre la tragedia y la felicidad (interior y exterior del hogar familiar, correspondientemente). Mención especial merece el cameo de Jeanette y, por supuesto, el de las amigas de Florinda Chico.
