Luis Buñuel's second film is a surreal attack on bourgeios ideals that incited a riot when first released and still retains its power to shock. A ratos apasionate, a ratos incomprensible. A ratos hipnótica, a ratos aburrida. Surrealista obra de Buñuel (con la colaboración de Dalí), en la que no faltan la crítica y los simbolismos. Resultado irregular, con momentos memorables (el "incidente" en la casa de los ricos), y con otros que no lo son tanto. Es el riesgo de hacer una obra tan personal.
