No esperen una gran obra de amor, ni tampoco un guión demasiado elaborado. Simplemente es una película entretenida para amantes del cine clásico. Katharine Hepburn y Fay Bainter desempeñan un buen trabajo teatral. Apabulla ver como en el siglo XIX el cotilleo incesable, era una vía de escape para mujeres solteras insatisfechas.
