Drama Antwerp 1940. Lieve marries Adriaan, a Flemish nationalist who enrols as collaborator on the Eastern Front. During his absence she falls passionately in love with resistance member François. After the liberation, she nonetheless chooses to stay with her husband. Faithfulness and treason play up against the social backdrop of hypocrisy and mediocrity. Eventually, Lieve will turn her back on the two men.
