- Synopsis
- One of Noronha da Costa's most narrative films, Don Jaime ou a noite portuguesa have influences, like other works of him, of the the tradition of gothic films (Terence Fisher is one of his favorite filmmakers), variations about mirrored bodies, evolving into luminous magic and into sensual and sensorial incandescence. At the same time, it has ironic and erotic visions about mad virgins and derisive sadists, who resurrect from german and british romanticism to walk in portuguese landscapes.
