- Synopsis
- Can a family of drooling, inbred hillbillies hold off a horde of horny ghouls when a batch of boner pills and barrel of radioactive waste get mixed, seep into graves and jolt the dead to life? Who is more mighty, a shambling, bloodthirsty fiend or a flamboyant professional wrestler? And if you think that stuff is nuts, wait’ll you see the five other stories still in stock in Robomonkey Productions’ Countess Bathoria’s Graveyard Picture Show! The viperous, voluptuous Melantha Blackthorne and her rogues gallery of creepy, cretinous collaborators up the ante of that grand tradition, the playful horror compendium film (think Creepshow, Bava’s Black Sabbath -- or Trapped Ashes, showing at Fantasia this year), tied together by Blackthorne as Countess Bathoria, the hostess with the ghostest! Robomonkey, previously responsible for Sinners and Saints and The Order of One, enlisted a lucky seven directors for the project, names well known to connoisseurs of local DIY filmmaking in the sci-fi and horror genre. Indie scream queen Blackthorne helms one herself. Maybe they saw it as a competition, because each delivers exceptional work –- daring, funny, gruesome, original and fully realized. See you at the boneyard, boys and girls!
