Nuestra vida (el destino) está escrita por un Dios demiurgo (Thompson). La religión (Hoffman) nos orienta: "creía que a usted se le ocurriría algo". Moraleja New Age: "el dinero no es importante", búsqueda de la felicidad.
Somos irrelevantes y suprimibles: "en el esquema de las cosas no importas".
Pedimos a Dios que nos salve, y sin embargo es la sociedad y el progreso quienes nos salva (el reloj), único recurso que nos concede Dios.
Nuestro mayor deseo es elegir cómo vivir la vida y cómo morir. Y cuando somos conscientes que vamos a morir, ya no preocupa nada (hiperconsciencia).
