La película es tan real, los actores interpretan tan bien a posibles ciudadanos de EE.UU, el final es tan creíble, hay tantas frases representativas del "espíritu" norteamericano que, sencillamente, como espectadora, si hubiera tenido que elegir entre ver la película y leer un periódico sobre un caso de estas características creo que habría decidido leer el periódico, porque a veces la crueldad es gratuita.
De todas formas, quizá Villeneuve, como canadiense, ha querido reflejarlo así, y lo ha hecho bastante bien, aunque con un guión largo y "con curvas", porque el espectador tiene que estar atento a quién es el CULPABLE; por eso Villeneuve se podría haber ahorrado como media hora de metraje. Por cierto, la interpretación se separa casi siempre de la dirección.

Supongo que el director quiere reflejar una realidad norteamericana tan "alarmante" como que alguien se tome la justicia por su mano (el padre de Ana encierra en un sitio ideado por él a Alex, sea culpable o inocente, y Alex no es Alex sino un niño robado), o tan "alarmante" como que la vecina anciana y supuestamente inofensiva diga que es mejor que el "imitador" esté muerto en lugar de pasarse la vida en el corredor de la muerte engordando.
El guión -los diálogos- no tiene desperdicio como representación de la sociedad norteamericana, los actores principales están muy bien ubicados en su papel, pero quizá a Villeneuve ¿se le ha escapado la película?
