Esta película es obra del (super)infravalorado Ralph Bakshi, el padre de los dibujos para adultos. No estaría mal que cuando viesen series como "Los Simpsons" o la entrega de premios a la mejor película de animación recordasen a este gran animador.
Retrata con agudeza y carácter incisivo la USA de los 70. Goza de realismo, humor negro y ácidas críticas.
