Mystery. Drama

Doy la razón a quienes encuentran fallos.
Me parece muy buena, vaya por delante. La dirección soberbia y los actores magníficos. Para mi falla el guión: Demasiadas casualidades juntas concentradas en los minutos finales. Eleva mucho el listón para resolverlo de manera previsible y facilona. Me recuerda a Pérez-Reverte.
Lo mas consistente: la actuación de Sean Penn
Lo mas inconsistente: el papel de Sean Penn y su evolución (sobre todo el vestuario).
También la estructura es demasiado similar a Sleepers (aunque en esta ocasión Kevin Bacon cambie el rol de malo a bueno) con unos adolescentes que juegan por las calles de la ciudad y se ven envueltos en un tema de abusos, luego crecen y casualmente uno de ellos lleva la investigación de un tema que atañe a los otros. Uno se convierte en la ley, otro se ha pasado al lado oscuro, etc..

La progresión del personaje de Sean Penn es demasiado poco creible. No se acertó en vestuario. Pasa de ser un padre de familia de clase media a ser el nuevo capo de la mafia por medio de un discurso pre-polvo de su mujer y un nada sutil cambio de la indumentaria y el peinado durante la película. La muestra de tatuajes carcelarios que crecen a medida que avanza la película lejos de ser una sutileza es un torpe recurso para hacernos saber que no se trata de quien creiamos. De la ropa de comunión a los cuellos vueltos y los tres cuartos de cuero con gomina y gafas negras de los noventa de uno de los nuestros. Si aparece con abrigo de camello, sombrero de ala de leopardo, gafas de espejo y pantalones de campana me lo creo.
Aun así me parece muy buena así que lo demás debe compensar.
