Lo más sorprendente de esta película es que se hiciera en un periodo tan oscuro en la historia de España. Buñuel le da una puñalada al catolicismo y a la persecución del bien. Tiene fondo y contenido, te hace pensar y reír. Muestra las esencias del ser humano, la corrupción de la humanidad y la anomalía de hacer el bien en un mundo malo por definición.
