Tarkovsky, el Maestro soviético, nos regala una profunda reflexión sobre la vida y su simbología. Sin ser pretencioso, nos muestra un film narrado como la vida misma, con sus incontenibles pausas, en un mundo extraño, ficticio, pero que analiza el haber y el pasar del hombre por la tierra. Stalker no es una película fácil dentro de los parámetros occidentales, pero a quienes les gusta contemplar un paisaje por ejemplo, se sorprenderán con la complejidad de esta película.
