Como si de un castillo de fuegos artificiales se tratara, va ganando en intensidad y colorismo. Magnífica recreación del ambiente de la época.
Historia de amor y odio, de gente honesta y deshonesta, buena y mala, superficial y profunda, cruel y piadosa.
De lo mejor de Depardieu, destacando el siempre excesivo Tim Roth.
