La voz coral prevalece sobre todas las voces individuales. De hecho, no hay individualidad: nadie escucha a nadie. Cada cual va a lo suyo, mira por lo suyo. El coro dice una sola cosa: incomunicación. Sólo prima la uniformidad: nadie escapa a su condición uniforme. El egoísmo, la miseria, la incomunicación quedan retratadas en una sucesión delirante de estampas paradigmáticas, crónicas y tajantes por el maestro del “egoísmo”, don Luis García Berlanga.
