Drama
A destitute 14 year old struggles to keep his life together despite harsh abuse at his mother's hands, harsher abuse at his father's, and a growing separation from his slightly older brother. Petty thefts for food grow into more major takes until he steals a cash box from the diner where he works. Un muchacho de 14 años, cuyo padre alcohólico y una madre que trabaja gran parte del día no son un sostén que sirva es el ambiente en el que se narra esta producción

Joe Henry (Noah Fleiss) es un chico de 14 años que debe rebuscarse la vida trabajando de ayudante en un restaurant. Generalmente el escaso dinero que gana se compra algunas cosas de su agrado, como por ejemplo unos nuevos discos de vinilo, reemplazantes de aquellos que su padre (Val Kilmer), un alcohólico, le destruyó arrojándolos contra una pared durante un acceso de furia.
También varias veces se ve obligado a robar algo de dinero, incluso comida del restaurant.
Por cierto los problemas del padre no se quedan tan atras: Su escacez de trabajo lo ha llevado a endeudarse con vecinos y conocidos, y son muchos los momento del film en el que algun mayor lleva aparte a Joe y le dice algo como "Oye, dile a tu padre que me devuelva los 40 dólares que le presté el mes pasado" o "Dile a tu padre que si no me paga lo mataré" y cosas así.
Así transcurre la historia hasta que es sorprendido robando y lo condenan a pasar 6 meses en un instituto de menores.
Opinión Final: Una película emocionalmente estimulante que me hizo saltar las lagrimas durante el final y que no se aleja de la realidad de hoy en día
