Synopsis

May 1945. On the outskirts of Prague, people greet Soviet liberation soldiers with tears of joy in their eyes. In the first days of calm, someone remembers life before the war with sadness; someone unexpectedly meets his love; someone returns from enemy prisons, hoping to look to the future; and someone, having gone from a tank to a Czech tram, fondly remembers his trade as a tram driver. These days, all who survived the hell of war vow to keep peace on Earth forever, honoring the memory of those who gave their lives for simple human happiness.
