Synopsis

The anonymous apartment buildings in Rome’s rundown Tor Bella Monaca district make Giorgio’s life seem like a prison sentence. The stifling atmosphere breeds an indifference that stagnates on the windowsills, on the walls of the courtyards, in the semi-deserted bars, amidst the scorched grass of the parks; an indifference that sits on a bench of despair. Giorgio runs, frightened, mocked; he searches for a way out; he longs to fall into his mother’s arms, but he cannot; he is alone; he must climb over a towering wall to find out what is on the other side.
