- Engagements are hard to find in times of depression. Actor Paul (Willi Forst) is looking for a job for more than a year. When he finally manages to get a role, the theater director (Paul Hörbiger) is almost as poor as Paul.
When everything appears to be gloomy, when there is no money left in the pockets - then a rich woman seems to be a clever solution. But in films like this, rich women are rarely rich and plans scarcely work out as they were planned.
Only beautiful women are for real. And falling in love with them is the better option anyway. When the usual mix-ups are sorted out, more might wait for those, who tried with great ambition.
