Synopsis / Plot: Youth is the story of Fred Ballinger (Michael Caine), a great orchestra conductor on holiday in a hotel in the Alps with his daughter Lena and friend, Mick, a director who is finding his latest film difficult to wrap up. Fred gave up on his music career years ago, but someone is determined for him to conduct again. From London, a Queen Elizabeth II emissary arrives, asking him to head an orchestra at Buckingham Palace for Prince Philip’s birthday.
