- The present Viscount Arnau wants to have the power and fame his ancestors had. In order to do this, he is proposed to have many children, preferably males. They get to revive the empire of the Arnau. When the first child is born, the Viscountess is unable to have more children so the Viscount has affairs with other women because he believes it is good to have bastards.
