Synopsis

Year 1973. Serbian psychiatrist Ilija Jugović, after the death of a patient in Belgrade, as punishment of the party, is transferred to Prizren (Kosovo), where he gets a job as a doctor in a local hospital. There he meets history professor Ljub Božović, the self-proclaimed 'Russian consul', an apparently psychiatric patient who claims that soon 'Russia will be Russia again and Kosovo will be Serbian again'. Local Albanian strongmen, covert separatists, as well as Communist Party members are turning against him. The most powerful of them, Halit Beriša, evicts Serbs from Kosovo with various pressures. It is the turn of Ljubo Bozović, whom Beriša tries to evict from his house and expel him from Kosovo. The 'Russian consul' refuses to sell the house and confronts Beriša, and Dr. Ilija Jugović comes to his defense.
