Synopsis: Shokuga (Les Illuminations) consists of a collection of photographical moments from a bygone day. It's like a film that people are said to watch at impetuous speed in the five minutes before the light of one's life is extinguished. However, the film is reversed. The film begins at the end and is constantly interrupted to the beginning. It seeks its own soul, examines it, tests it and learns from it. Yet, a film is inevitably in the present tense! It can only continue to drift away and disappear! Can this really be an explanation?(Isao Yamada, September 12, 2023)
