- Agustin Valverde (Paco Martinez Soria), widower and landowner from Aragon, decides to leave the village and go to Madrid, to settle in the house of his son doctor (Eduardo Fajardo) and his daughter-in-law (Doris Coll), both emigrated from the village. Now everybody calls her Luchy, since she got her new life in the capital and a brilliant social position due to her husband's medical prestige. But upon arriving in Madrid, 'uncle' Agustín, as he is called, discovers that life is very different in the city and that there are many more problems in the capital than in his village. Luchy is being courted by the doctor's assistant (Sancho Gracia). Sara, Agustín's granddaughter (Cristina Galbó), leads a frivolous life with a gang of modern friends. And even Filo, the housekeeper (Gracita Morales), has her share of complications. But 'uncle' Agustín will not stand idly by and try to help them in his own way.
