- Clair's romantic comedy on the power of love over pride. Set in a pre-WWI garrison town, a handsome soldier (Philipe) wagers that he can seduce any woman he pleases before leaving for summer maneuvers. Drawing the name of his quarry from a hat, he begins his conquest of a pretty, but reluctant divorcee (Morgan). He wins his bet, but gets more than he bargained for as love destroys both his reputation as a Don Juan and his credibility.
