- Synopsis
- New York, 1980s. It tells the story of a father's desperate search when Edgar, his nine-year-old son, disappears on his way to school in the morning. Vincent, one of New York's foremost puppeteers and creator of a wildly popular children's television series, is having a terrible time dealing with Edgar's loss and is increasingly distraught and unstable. He hates himself and blames himself for the disappearance. In this state, he clings to his son's drawings of a blue monster, a puppet named Eric, convinced that if he can get Eric on TV, Edgar will come home. Vincent's increasingly destructive behavior distances him from his family, his colleagues and the police officers who are trying to help him. It will be Eric, this delirium born of necessity, who becomes his only ally in the struggle to bring his son home.
