- Synopsis
- After the fall of the Soviet Union, Cuba experienced an economic imbalance that caused a serious supply shortage, causing a complex problem of food security. Through 20 years of work, urban organic farming was developed in response to the food crisis in the country, based on the values of food self-sufficiency, education and intergenerational and multidisciplinary popular participation. This movement places Cuba as leader in the production of sustainable and organic food in the context of global environmental and economic crisis.
