Synopsis
‘Basajaun’ is a film in defence of the vineyard. A documentary that shows how Spain’s wine revolution is rescuing the origin of an ancient culture. The recovery of genetic variability toadapt to climate change and fight wood diseases is presented as the only sustainable alternative for the future of the sector. In different parts of Spain, the return to a traditional and environmentally- respectful viticulture, combined with the most cutting-edge scientific knowledge, has generated a winegrower’s movement that has a common purpose: to preserve the complex and diverse origin of the Spanish vineyard.
