- Synopsis
- This is the story of Josep Gironés, a European champion who mysteriously disappeared from the ring to become, some time later, the bodyguard of the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia in the Second Republic. He fled to Mexico, leaving behind a wife and daughter, accused of being a torturer. While in exile his innocence was proven but he never returned. Years later and in democracy, only a plaque in his house remembers where he was born. Several public figures have called for an official recovery of his figure, but the administrations seem to have fallen silent. Why did he suddenly retire? Why did he flee to Mexico? Why do only the elderly remember his confrontations with the great American rival, Freddie Miller?
