Synopsis

The engineer Karl Hartmann designs a new, gigantic coal excavator, but he's fed up with industrial machines and runs away to the country, to his grandmothers', where he meets Camilla von Einerm and falls for her. While enjoying an idyllic life, he discovers large brown coal deposits below his home country.
