Vi esta película una de esas madrugadas en las que llevas un buen tiempo haciendo scrolling sin encontrar nada interesante. Nada más toparme con la portada de la película supe que era la elegida. Esa adolescente de ojos vacíos parecía ser la protagonista perfecta de otra peli que reviviese en mí la nostalgia por el pasado. Lo que no me imaginaba es que esta ''teen movie'' tenía poco de inocente.

Christiane es una chica de catorce años que vive en el Berlín de mediados de los 70 que, probando las primeras mieles de la vida, termina experimentando con la heroína.

Esta película tiene un aspecto que la hace única y, es que, es un reflejo a la perfección de su tiempo por varias razones. La primera de ellas tiene que ver con las brutales imágenes de la estación central de Berlín, los toxicómanos agolpados en las calles, las jeringuillas utilizadas por varias personas o el absoluto abandono de la juventud. La heroína trajo esto a los barrios de muchas regiones europeas. En España, una generación entera sufrió las consecuencias de esta droga llegando incluso a formarse asociaciones de madres en contra de la heroína. Punto curioso es el de las jeringuillas. A veces olvidamos que hubo una era pre-SIDA donde no se tenía cuidado con el contagio.

Por otro lado, la película nos lleva de regreso al pasado con su elenco. La actriz Natja Brunckhorst tenía solo 13 años cuando aceptó el papel de Christiane. Lo mismo ocurre con su compañero Detlev (Thomas Haustein). Resulta incómodo y, en lo personal, desagradable ver a dos niños recreando secuencias con una temática tan adulta. Creo que en la actualidad sería imposible de hacer.

En definitiva, diría que esta película es más que eso. Es un recuerdo a lo que ha sido y es la droga. Muy recomendable.

Just stumbling upon the movie's cover, I knew it was the chosen one. That vacant-eyed teenager seemed to be the perfect protagonist for another film that would revive in me nostalgia for the past. What I didn't imagine is that this 'teen movie' had little innocence.

Christiane is a fourteen-year-old girl living in mid-70s Berlin who, tasting life's first pleasures, ends up experimenting with heroin.

This movie has an aspect that makes it unique, and that is, it reflects perfectly its time for several reasons. The first of them has to do with the brutal images of Berlin's central station, the drug addicts crowded in the streets, the syringes used by several people, or the absolute abandonment of youth. Heroin brought this to the neighborhoods of many European regions. In Spain, an entire generation suffered the consequences of this drug, with associations of mothers formed against heroin. An interesting point is that of the syringes. Sometimes we forget that there was a pre-AIDS era where there was no concern about contagion.

On the other hand, the movie takes us back to the past with its cast. Actress Natja Brunckhorst was only 13 years old when she accepted the role of Christiane. The same goes for her co-star Detlev (Thomas Haustein). It's uncomfortable and, personally, unpleasant to see two children reenacting scenes with such an adult theme. I believe that nowadays it would be impossible to do.

In conclusion, I would say that this movie is more than that. It's a reminder of what drugs have been and are. Highly recommended.
