Épica la batalla del abismo de Helm, pero continuamente interrumpida por las ñoñeces de los Ents del bosque, que deberían aparecer sólo para atacar Isengard.
Los efectos y la música son impresionantes; cabe destacar el discurso de Sam a Frodo sobre el fin de las tinieblas.
