Gran film rodado en un austero blanco y negro. Lo mejor de David Lynch. Lejos de caer en el efectismo y la autocomplacencia de otros films, David Lynch da muestras de ser un gran cineasta en esta ocasión al adaptar al cine la vida de un ser inadaptado y marcado por la deformidad. Dura por momentos, pero con trazas de gran cine.
