¿Cómo justificar la pena de muerte de alguien condenado sin pruebas, obligado a testificar, de raza negra y de clase baja? Mostrando a un detractor (Sean Connery) que defiende "lo indefendible" con un giro de guión surrealista.
Tal y cómo dice el título de la película, "Causa Justa", la causa justifica a los medios... los medios utilizados por un polícia (Laurence Fishburne) que debería acabar en prisión.
