Tornatore vuelve a exhibir su capacidad para hacer buen cine, aunque no se acerca ni remotamente a la emotividad que consiguió con Cinema Paradiso. Ésta también es una historia vital y también tiene una banda sonora interesante. Tiene la peculiaridad de que está rodada en inglés.
