A pesar de lo previsible del guión: Asesinos en serie, el detective que va tras la pista de ellos, etc. la diferencia que este film para que no sea otro del montón, es la puesta en escena, la edición bien calculada acompañada por la apabullante dirección de Scott Frank. Es una espeluznante producción con una calidad dificil de igualar.
