Texas, year 1963. Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner) is a hardened prison escapee on the run with a 8 years-old hostage (T.J. Lowther) who sees in Butch the father figure he never had. Texas Ranger Red Garnett (Clint Eastwood) will lead deputies and a criminologist (Laura Dern) on a state wide pursuit. Red knows every road and pothole in the Panhandle. What’s more, he knows the elusive Haynes – because their paths have crossed before.

Eastwood ha sido muy generoso mostrándonos todo su derroche como Director. Una historia muy sencilla y creible, pero sobretodo, conmovedora. Sobresaliente actuación de Costner. Un desenlace con altísimo impacto emocional. Definitivamente una de las mejores películas de la década de los 90's.
