The story concerns Selma (Björk), a Czech immigrant living in 1964 Washington State with her 12-year-old son, Gene (Vladan Kostic). Un mágico musical. El espectro de aquellos que aun ven con ojos buenos, lo que debiese verse como una lección y representación de la vida cotidiana. Una opera matter; un espejo expresionista (Bjork), junto la crudeza de la realidad (Von Trier).
