Ante todo hay que destacar a una inconmensurable EMMANUELLE BÉART: ¿cómo lo hace para parecer un ángel y un pendón a la vez?
Por su temática recuerda un poco a “Celos”, de Vicente Aranda, que por su falta de sutileza se queda en nada al lado de este irresistible suspense cotidiano desplegado por Chabrol con mano maestra: increíble su capacidad para que no pase nada y a la vez pase todo.
La música, la interpretación, lo que se ve, lo que no se ve, lo que se imagina… absolutamente todo ayuda a componer un ambiente enfermizo y turbio que lleva al protagonista primero a la inquietud, luego a la desesperación, y finalmente a la locura.
