En una noche fría y en buena compañía pude disfrutar de esta maravillosa película, la octava de su director.
Para los amantes del cine de ciencia ficción no creo que resulte larga y pesada. El ritmo es óptimo, veloz en algunos puntos incluso (debido a su impresionante calidad).
Comencé esta película con las expectativas altas. La peli no ha defraudado en absoluto. Buen nivel.

James Gray se adentra en terreno desconocido con su primera película de ciencia-ficción, y lo cierto es que el producto resultante saciará con creces el apetito del espectador, evocando por momentos a grandes películas como "2001: Una Odisea del Espacio", "interstellar" o "Moon", Ad Astra no se queda atrás.
Brad Pitt es Roy McBridge en este fascinante viaje espacial que nos llevará hasta el borde del sistema solar. En un futuro próximo, cercano pero todavía distante, unas descargas cósmicas provenientes de un sistema de energía utilizado en una base espacial que está orbitando Neptuno, -el proyecto Lima-, están llegando a la tierra, causando graves problemas en las redes eléctricas y desencadenando auténticos desastres. Si estas descargas siguen llegando, acabarán con toda la vida de nuestro planeta. Es por esto que deciden enviar a Roy hasta allí para poner un petardazo en la nave en cuestión, que resulta que está capitaneada por su Padre, Clifford McBridge. En la tierra nada saben de Clifford desde hace 16 años, cuando se le había mandado en misión para encontrar vida inteligente más allá del sistema solar.
En el aspecto visual es un monstruo, hay que decir que se trata de la gran película de ciencia ficción del año, se apostó bien por ella con 80M$ de presupuesto. Los colores son muy limpios y nítidos, planos y transiciones muy técnicos y mimados, los tiempos medidos a la perfección, muy fluida a pesar de su duración (2h). Pero la película no es solo potente en el terreno visual, tiene un guión muy serio, introspectivo y sólido; habla sobre la paz emocional y los objetivos vitales, la soledad, el egoísmo y la trascendencia del ser humano como persona. Muy emocional y filosófica pieza de cine.
Sin duda James Gray estará contento con su creación. Un acierto de director y un acierto de película.
