Pese a tratarse de una trama bastante simple, y del paso del tiempo (casi 80 años desde que se rodó), la película resulta enormemente agradable y algunos de los diálogos son incluso sorprendentes y brillantes.
La historia de amor entre los protagonistas es entrañable, tierna sin ser empalagosa, humana y muy simpática.
