Comedy
Kika, a young cosmetologist, is called to the mansion of Nicolas, an American writer to make-up the corpse of his stepson, Ramon. Ramon, who is not dead, is revived by Kika's attentions and she then moves in with him. They might live happily ever after but first they have to cope with Kika's affair with Nicolas, the suspicious death of Ramon's mother and the intrusive gaze of tabloid-TV star and Ramon's ex-psychologist Andrea Scarface.

Sólo a Almodóvar se le podría ocurrir hacer una película sobre una maquilladora que se enamora de un muerto.
Kika es una comedia a ratos bastante divertida, a ratos muy desagradable (hay escenas de un mal gusto importante), y a ratos simplemente surrealista. Es 100% Almodóvar, al menos en su estilo desde 1980 hasta más o menos 1996. Eso sí, tiene una Verónica Forqué estratosférica que se basta y se sobra para elevar la película hasta un nivel más que aceptable.
Lo mejor: Verónica Forqué. Gloriosa.
Lo peor: Como solía ser habitual en el Almodóvar de antes de La flor de mi secreto, hay más provocación que auténtica historia.
