Comedy. Drama
'The Kid' is the story of a child abandoned in a limousine by his unwed mother (Edna Purviance). When The Little Tramp finds him, he tries unsuccessfully to find a home for the boy. Obliged to keep him, The Little Tramp teaches the youngster about life on the streets and just as they have bonded and become a family, everything gets complicated.

El chico dice más en apenas 60 minutos (es casi un mediometraje) que muchas películas vacías en horas.
Pocas veces se ha visto una cinta tan tierna, tan emotiva, tan sincera, tan de verdad, y que encima toque temas sociales (la pobreza, la maternidad y el abandono, las clases sociales, etc) con tanto acierto, humor y delicadeza. Pero claro, Charlie Chaplin era un genio. No todas las películas pueden tener semejante capitán a los mandos. Y Jackie Coogan está encantador también.
Absolutamente maravillosa.
Lo mejor: Su emotividad, imposible de impostar, y la genialidad de Chaplin en casa faceta.
Lo peor: Que existen otras películas de Chaplin todavía mejores.
